Energy fuels skill work and training.
- Skill tasks and Train cost 1 energy per cycle.
- Rest restores +1 energy about every 60 seconds while below max.
- Cooked meals restore energy and can go above your current max.
- Max energy ranges from 2 to 20. Training raises the max.
- When energy hits 0, the pal collapses and max energy may drop.

How tired your pal is changes walk time to the next job:
- Energetic (at max): about 10s
- Normal: about 15s
- Tired (below half): about 20s
- Critical (1 or less): about 25s

Skill tasks:
- Mine (pickaxe) gathers ore
- Fight (sword) gathers essence from enemies
- Fish (rod) gathers fish
- Gather gathers berries (no tool needed)
- Chop (axe) gathers wood

Loot and tools use rarity: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary. With a tool skill, the best loot you can find is about one rarity above your best tool of that type. Gathering ignores tools. Better gear versus the loot you're getting also shortens work time. Skill buff potions cut a little more time.

Misc tasks: Rest (regain energy), Train (raise max energy), Wash (clean dirt), Meals (eat cooked food you own).

Interruptions: on the way into Mine, Chop, Fish, or Gather work, something else may interrupt — about a 25% chance of a fight ambush, about 10% chance of netting bugs. The original task continues after.

Dirtiness and cleaning: your pal gets dirtier over time. Wash and scrub until clean. When fully clean, a shiny aura appears for about 5 minutes.

Rest and painting: during Rest, your pal may paint. Paint fills in about 1 pixel per second.

Recall: left-click during a task to stop it and keep the loot already gathered.
